KINIVRY
The KINIVRY project is an exceptional artistic and educational initiative, connecting students from Ivry-sur-Seine (France) and Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo) in a unique creative collaboration. Each year, students from Élodie Després' class in Ivry invest in the collective writing of a poem. This poem, imbued with their emotions and imagination, then serves as the basis for a musical creation produced by the young musicians of Kinarmonik.
Thanks to this intercultural partnership, students from Ivry discover the richness of Congolese sounds, while young artists from Kinshasa explore the words of their French counterparts, together creating an artistic work where poetry and music meet.
For the KINIVRY 2024 edition, a video clip was produced by the 6th grade students of the Molière College in Ivry-sur-Seine. This clip, reflecting their creativity and commitment, accompanies the musical and poetic creation, giving a visual dimension to this collaborative work.
The Hangar d’Ivry plays a vital role in providing a professional space where students from Ivry record their poems, while in Kinshasa, young people from the Kinamronik studio record their musical compositions. Together, these elements form an artistic symphony uniting the two cities.
This year, KINiVRY was also honored during the Fête de la Musique in Ivry-sur-Seine, with a special presentation at the Médiathèque d’Ivry. This event allowed to share with the public the richness of this intercultural collaboration and to celebrate the union of poetry and music across borders.
KINIVRY is much more than an annual project; it is a celebration of creativity, cultural exchange, and the power of collaboration between the young generations of Ivry-sur-Seine and Kinshasa, united by a love of words, music, and visual art.
